A capacitor is separated and insulated by two conductor plates, which are connected to both ends of the power supply. The air gap in the middle is called the dielectric of the capacitor. When the capacitor is connected to the power supply, the air gap between the conductor plates is filled with electrons, forming an electric field, and the capacitor stores charges. The energy storage of capacitors is related to their capacitance. Capacitance is usually expressed in C, in Farads (F), where 1 Farad is equal to 1 Coulomb per volt. The formula is C=Q/V, where Q is the amount of charge stored in the capacitor and V is the voltage of the capacitor.
